First Shield ☆ Video

[Since Steve had arrived in Somarium, he had spent his time trying to adjust not only to this new world, but this new time. Coming from 1944 to a modern age was definitely not easy, but he was doing...well, well enough, especially with the help of Tony.

And now he was finally giving his Dreamberry a try.

...

Yeah, the feed's upside down. But fortunately he realized it pretty fast, flipping it over with a sheepish grin.]

Sorry. First time, uh, using this...thing. [He rubs the back of his head for a second, then he gets a bit more serious. He was on a mission, after all.]

First off, I'd like to ask. Is there a tailor anywhere around here? I have a suit I need fixed up. [His poor Captain America suit. It sure got beat up in that plane crash.]

Secondly, is there....a place to buy motorcycles? I kinda miss my Harley. [It wasn't the only thing he missed, but he was trying not to think too much on Peggy right now. And since he couldn't get drunk still, what better way to keep his mind off things than by getting a motorcycle?]

Please, let's not go there with excuses. Do I have to write a dummy's guide to modern technology for you?

[He probably will anyway. Just to be kind of an ass.]

1944? [Cue Bela's interest soaring right now as she leans in, an excited look on her face. She's a huge history buff so speaking to someone who may be from a significant period is a huge deal for her. After a few moments, she finds her voice again.]

I can't imagine that it's easy at all. I'm from 2007 myself.

[identity profile] aeoelingweard.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Er.. I can't claim to be an expert at it, but I've some experience with mending clothes if you can't find anywhere to get it done. [Thanks for ripping your clothes so much, Arthur.]

Video.

That's it. [Raising an eyebrow.] Had one back home. It was handy to have around. [Not that he'll manage to get one as awesome as what he had back home, but still. It'd beat having to walk everywhere he wanted to go.]

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-10 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
[You realize he doesn't even get that joke, right?]

A dummy's guide? Hey, I'm not that stupid. This stuff is just complex, okay?

[identity profile] coolexec.livejournal.com 2011-09-10 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
There is so much I have yet to teach you. There's a whole series of dummy's guide books to basically everything - they're bright yellow things, give an overview of whatever it is at large. The only thing complex here is the dream function.
failssassin: (Look over there)

[personal profile] failssassin 2011-09-10 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, just try not to be a hero here or something. Not that you really can stop yourself, can you?]

Sure. [Desmond sends the address and the way to his apartment building.] I can meet you downstairs in half an hour?

And if you break it, I'll just send Kara your way if she ever comes back. Good luck dealing with her.

[She was a nice woman enough, but with one hell of a character.]

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, right in the middle of World War II. [Pausing, with a little bit of a frown.] You are from Earth, though, right? You know what I'm talking about?

[He could never know for sure. One guy he talked to didn't even know what Heaven was.

He chuckles a bit at hearing the year she's from.]
'Least you get to understand technology, then. We didn't have anything like this stuff back home.

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Anything would be great. Doesn't have to be perfect, just usable. [Seriously, that suit has gone through so much. He'd just be happy to wear it again without a million holes in it.]

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
So you're saying I need that book? [But...why? He had you to ask when he was lost. Even though he's not really happy you're laughing at him. He almost has half the mind to hit you with his shield. Good thing he's a nice guy and would never actually do something like that.]

Says the guy who made a weaponized suit. Of course nothing's complex to you

[voice]

[identity profile] sickestbeats.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, nice cover. But I tell you what, you knock off the creeper bit and I'll let this one go. I'm a nice guy like that.

[identity profile] coolexec.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
You probably need the whole set.

[There is one complex thing - how does one monogamous relationship but that's not an issue here.]

I think it was pretty impossible for me not to get that with Howard Stark as my old man.
onsilksheets: (why yes)

[personal profile] onsilksheets 2011-09-11 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm from Earth, yes. And I'm well-versed in what you're talking about. Just never believed that I'd ever speak to someone from that period of time. It's kind of fascinating to me.

[She laughs lightly in return.] Yeah, I suppose I am lucky in that regard. If you need help, I can tell you how the device works and the different functions that it has.

Video.

[identity profile] noblependragon.livejournal.com 2011-09-11 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Handier than a horse? [Arthur is not sure about that. Machines looked to be tricky things.]

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
[He really can't.]

Uh, yeah. Sure. Be there in a half hour. [If he can find it.]

I'll try to be careful. You sure you want to sell your friend's bike, though?

[voice]

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
W-What? Really, Harley's a motorcycle. [He's....not even sure what's going on anymore.]

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'm only really having trouble with technology though. [Lies. He's behind in everything. |D

And sorry, he's no help there. He can't even talk to women.]

Exactly. You have an unfair advantage.

video;

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Can't say I ever expected to be talking to someone from the future, myself. And that's happened more often than not, since I got here.

Thanks, but I'm doing alright. Lucky for me, the son of my friend from home is here. He's helped me adjust pretty well. [And also, Peggy would kill him if he excepted help from another woman. He learned his lesson with Lorraine. |D]

[identity profile] coolexec.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
Technology's come a long way since your time - I wouldn't let you behind the wheel of any of the cars we have now.

[It's really sad when, should Steve show an interest with anyone, that Tony'll step in to fix him up.]

That's not an unfair advantage, if others put in the right amount of work they could eventually get it done. Besides designing the suit versus the dreamberry isn't a fair comparison.
onsilksheets: (straight on)

video;

[personal profile] onsilksheets 2011-09-12 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
What really gets me is when you start to talk to someone from a different universe. Even a different planet. It's quite interesting.

Hey, that is very lucky. What are the odds of that happening? Must be strange meeting his son though.

[identity profile] aeoelingweard.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Usable I can manage, so long as it's-- Exactly what state is it in now that's.. keeping it from being usable?

[voice]

[identity profile] sickestbeats.livejournal.com 2011-09-13 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
It's almost like you're trying to convince yourself this is legit. Okay, okay, I got it bro. We'll say she's a motorcycle and pretend everything's honky-dory. Now just hold it there while I phone in the funny farm.

[ And this one's probably not making anything any more clear right now ;asdf ]

Video.

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-14 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Handier. No feeding, no constant caring. And no cleaning up after messes. [Yet, he's conveniently forgetting motorcycles have to have gas, need to be tuned up, and do leak sometimes.]

video;

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-14 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
So I've found out. Never thought anything like this would be possible.

Yeah, I have to say it is. He's a lot like him, too. What gets me is what he says about his dad, though. Howard never struck me as one to be a bad father..

[identity profile] savesthedance.livejournal.com 2011-09-14 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
[He's just kind of...rubbing the back of his head now.] Well, it's still usable. Sort of. H-Heh.

It, uh-- kinda went through a plane crash?
