[Since Steve had arrived in Somarium, he had spent his time trying to adjust not only to this new world, but this new time. Coming from 1944 to a modern age was definitely not easy, but he was doing...well, well enough, especially with the help of Tony.

And now he was finally giving his Dreamberry a try.

Yeah, the feed's upside down. But fortunately he realized it pretty fast, flipping it over with a sheepish grin.]

Sorry. First time, uh, using this...thing. [He rubs the back of his head for a second, then he gets a bit more serious. He was on a mission, after all.]

First off, I'd like to ask. Is there a tailor anywhere around here? I have a suit I need fixed up. [His poor Captain America suit. It sure got beat up in that plane crash.]

Secondly, is there....a place to buy motorcycles? I kinda miss my Harley. [It wasn't the only thing he missed, but he was trying not to think too much on Peggy right now. And since he couldn't get drunk still, what better way to keep his mind off things than by getting a motorcycle?]

[Awkward smile. Still a little weird talking to women, sorry.]

Well, I'm afraid I don't know where you can find any here, but if you've any other questions I can try to answer them.

Okay. Thanks, though. [Sheepish grin.] Honestly? Doubt I'll ever not have any questions.

It's no trouble. [Yeah, she thinks he's a cutie.] Seems to be the way that most people feel here. Even I still have questions.

Try coming here from 1944. Not exactly the easiest change. [He had picked up on a lot of people being here from different versions of Earth, which still doesn't make any sense to him. But it felt like all he had seen were from what would be the future to him. So really, he's just taking a guess that this girl might be from one of those versions of Earth.]

1944? [Cue Bela's interest soaring right now as she leans in, an excited look on her face. She's a huge history buff so speaking to someone who may be from a significant period is a huge deal for her. After a few moments, she finds her voice again.]

I can't imagine that it's easy at all. I'm from 2007 myself.

Yeah, right in the middle of World War II. [Pausing, with a little bit of a frown.] You are from Earth, though, right? You know what I'm talking about?

[He could never know for sure. One guy he talked to didn't even know what Heaven was.

He chuckles a bit at hearing the year she's from.] 'Least you get to understand technology, then. We didn't have anything like this stuff back home.

I'm from Earth, yes. And I'm well-versed in what you're talking about. Just never believed that I'd ever speak to someone from that period of time. It's kind of fascinating to me.

[She laughs lightly in return.] Yeah, I suppose I am lucky in that regard. If you need help, I can tell you how the device works and the different functions that it has.

Can't say I ever expected to be talking to someone from the future, myself. And that's happened more often than not, since I got here.

Thanks, but I'm doing alright. Lucky for me, the son of my friend from home is here. He's helped me adjust pretty well. [And also, Peggy would kill him if he excepted help from another woman. He learned his lesson with Lorraine. |D]

What really gets me is when you start to talk to someone from a different universe. Even a different planet. It's quite interesting.

Hey, that is very lucky. What are the odds of that happening? Must be strange meeting his son though.

So I've found out. Never thought anything like this would be possible.

Yeah, I have to say it is. He's a lot like him, too. What gets me is what he says about his dad, though. Howard never struck me as one to be a bad father..

You come to here, you start to believe that almost anything is possible.

Maybe his father changed from when you knew him. People can do that. [Not her father though. Bela hated him. For a good reason though.] Or it's possible that his son may be lying.

Pretty much. Can't imagine how weird it'd be, leaving now. Going back to where everything makes sense. [Not that he...wants to leave. Finding out he disappeared and probably died in that crash? Nope, he's content with staying here where he's alive. He just wished he had his friends here with him. Especially Peggy....

He nods, understanding what she meant.] I...believe he was telling the truth. And I know people change. Things happen. But it's still hard to believe, for me. Knowing the Howard I know, it's hard to imagine him being the Howard his son knew. [And he couldn't help but wonder and worry that his disappearance may have caused some of those changes.]

That's how I feel sometimes. Back home, I know where I stand and how things work. Here, I get a bit lost. [Being stuck in a dreamland wasn't on Bela's list of priorities. She needed to get back home to check on things.]

I can understand why it would be hard to believe. The Howard that you know will always be like that to you, no matter what anyone else tells you. [A beat.] Hope that makes sense to you.

I'm Bela by the way. What's your name?

[He chuckles.] Same here. But honestly, if I don't go home anytime soon, I won't be complaining. [He knows that probably sounds weird to a lot of people, but he was alive here. He could be of use and help protect people. If he went home, he'd just be dead. ~~At least, that's what he thinks, anyways.~~]

Yeah, it does. And I'm Steve Rogers. It's nice to meet you, ma'am.

You have no desire to go back home? That's a first for me. No one else has said that when I've spoken to them. [Of course she doesn't know the reason why he was saying that, but it only serves to make Bela all the more curious now.]

It's a pleasure, Steve. [He was definitely polite.] Ma'am? I appreciate it, but there's no need for such formalities.

I do. But... [Trails off, rubbing the spot just under his nose. His expression dropped a bit, too.] I'm not...really....alive, back home.

You sure? [Blinking. He's unsure with women, so he just wants to make sure she's sure. He doesn't want to offend her later or something.]

Oh. I'm sorry. [She goes off his look for a few moments, not sure what she could say after hearing that.] Really.

Very sure. [Bela smiles at him, nodding.] I like being called Bela.

[He simply shook his head.] It was my choice. I accepted my fate. There's nothing to be sorry about.

[He somewhat returns the smile, nodding as well.] Alright then, Bela.

You died a hero then? [It's asked quietly as well as respectfully. A rare thing coming from her.]

Thank you, Steve. I appreciate it.

[He paused, unsure of how to respond to that. He didn't like to call himself a hero. He wasn't any better than any of the soldiers out there fighting. But what he did...could he really deny that it was heroic?] Guess you could say that.

No problem. Just let me know if I cross any lines, alright? [Just...to be safe. Women seriously confuse him.]

You sacrificed yourself to save others. I'd say that was heroic. [Her tone is still pretty hushed, but the respect is still there.]

I'll let you know. Though I doubt you'll be doing that.

I was just doing what had to be done. [Seriously, he doesn't do the whole praising himself thing. He doesn't feel he deserves the glory.]

You never know. I've been known to be terrible at talking to women.

You're modest too. A rare quality in a person. [As Bela was anything but modest.]

Do you see me running the other way? I think you're not as bad as you believe you are.

[Sheepish grin as he rubs the back of his head.]

I've had some practice. You should have seen me a few years back. [Back when he was a foot shorter and weighed about ninety-five pounds.]
