Dream ☆ 002
Affects: An overwhelming sense of pride and patriotism; not interactive
Warnings: Slight but not really CA:TFA spoilers?
[Steve woke before the soldiers could continue to taunt him. He sighed, running a hand through his hair after a moment.]
Definitely don't miss those days... [Definitely not. But it wasn't until he mumbled this that he noticed that the Dreamberry on his bedside table was on.
Whoops.]
...Guess the secret's out, huh?

But...I guess you're right. I wouldn't have been in Italy, I wouldn't have seen you again, and...I wouldn't have gone to save Bucky. I wouldn't be the real Captain America, would I?

Seeing me again wasn't that important. [Even if she had helped him, she still didn't see her role in the mission as vital compared to everything he had done.] But saving Bucky and the others...
You were the real Captain America the first time you tried to enlist and then tried again even after being rejected. Everything else was just means for it to become true to the rest of the world.

I think he would have said something very similar. He believed in you, Steve. He knew you were the good man the serum would work on. You were his first choice. His only choice.

[Getting a little flustered, but he gives her a soft smile still.] I'm glad he at least got his wish, then.

[Man did he wish he could have gotten to know Dr. Erskine more. But thinking he would have made him proud...it did make him very happy. Flustered, yes, but happy.]

[He shrugs a little, but still, a smile.] But I'm glad I got the opportunity. Things might not've turned out like I expected, or even wanted, at first, but I was able to do some good. I...I still wish I could have saved him, but...I saved his home. I stopped Schmidt. Think that's something he really wanted. Just wish he could've seen it happen.

Then I'm glad we were able to. If it's what he wanted, I'm honored to have been able to.
