So Steve... There's this guy looking around for you. Red face, strong as a freaking ox. I'm pretty sure he wants to punch your face in. Sound familiar?
[It's a good thing it was voicemail at first, because Steve totally dropped the Dreamberry when he heard the message. When he finally responds, there's a very unstable tone to his voice.]
Y..Yeah, just...just a bit. But how did you...? Jensen, please tell me that guy's not...here.
[Jensen looks a surprised upon hearing the uncertainty in the other man's voice.]
Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but he is. Doesn't act like he's a friendly guy either. Unless punching people right in the kisser is his way of saying hello.
[Steve can't text, and...at the news he just got, it probably would only be worse than normal. Ignore the strain in his voice, because he's really stressed out right now.]
Good, just-- rest up, okay? We'll figure this thing out. I'll come see you guys as soon as I can, alright?
[Don't even question how he got this, how it was made, or even how he figured out how to add it to the message. Because, really, that's not important in the least bit, right?]
[Touché, Rogers. Did you ask JARVIS for help with that?]
Then get here and I'll fix it myself.
And I saw Pepper eyeing these. [Imagine there's a picture of ladies lingerie here because I am not googling those.] Get her them and I'll forgive you for those atrocious shakers.
[Any relief Schmidt felt at going through the portal and getting back to Somarium was pretty well ruined when he landed in the damn lake with all the others.
So once he'd gotten out, now dripping wet, he pulled out his dreamberry and was about to call for his car when he noticed all the new boardcasts on the dreamnet, one in particular standing out.
......
It dated only two days prior, a broadcast Steve. The captain had returned. Schmidt watched the broadcast twice, paying attention to every detail and trying not to think about the... was joy the right word? Elation, maybe? Yeah, let's go with that - The elation he suddenly felt. Captain America was back, the comfortable status quo was restored. And now he didn't have to ponder the disappointment he'd felt when Steve left. What? Has Schmidt perhaps formed an attachment to his counterpart, one based solely on hate, jealousy, and a constant need to hurt Steve in order to prove his own superiority? Nope. Get out. That's crazy talk. Attachments are bad. He doesn't have any.
He forgot about calling his car, forgot about how he was soaking wet, even forgot about the bad mood he was in before. Instead he walked toward the industrial district and immediately pulled up the contact list and called Steve. He went with video, too, because he wanted to see the captain's face, to see if he still looked as tired as he did on his return. The contents of that whole broadcast had been very interesting indeed.
Ring.... ring...]
Welcome back, captain. We thought you had left us for good. Peggy was beside herself with grief. It is good I was there to... comfort her while we were trapped together on the other side of the portal.
[He knew he couldn't directly threaten Peggy or Steve's friends, not over the dreamnet. But that didn't matter, he could get by with simple insinuations. He was pushing Steve's buttons either way.
Ah, everything was back to normal. Nice, comfortable normal.]
[Honestly? Steve wasn't surprised to receive the call from Schmidt. He simply looked at his Dreamberry at first, before he finally picked it up to answer the man.
Schmidt would probably notice that Steve doesn't look nearly so bad as he did in the other broadcast. He's had two days to heal and relax, even if he hadn't really relaxed. He was extremely worried about everyone stuck in the warehouse, but no one would let him help get them back.
He honestly hadn't been completely sure Schmidt was one of the people gone, but the man hadn't responded to the other broadcast, which led Steve to believe he was in fact gone. He knew Peggy and Bucky were, for sure, as well as Robin and a several others he knew. And all he could do was worry.
But if Schmidt was back, did that mean-- the others!?
And, really, it feels like it's been so long since he had to deal with Schmidt. A year, at least, since he woke up after being frozen. So much had happened, it felt like ages ago...]
Glad to be back. It's been a while, huh? [Longer for him, really. He pauses, trying to decide how he wants to continue. He doesn't want to play into what Schmidt's trying to pull, because he knows exactly what the male is trying to do, and he doesn't want fall back into that game again.]
Yeah? Need something, A-- America? [Brief fumbling if only because he's still trying to get used to the fact that his country was a person that he was talking to.]
[Hey, Captain America, have a slightly awkward teenager delivering some slightly awkward news.
Hope you're ready to be uncomfortable!]
Uh, so, hey--
You're 'Captain America', right? [He's Spider-Man, and somehow he still feels ridiculous saying that.]
I-- uh-- well not me, your--
[Ahem. Give him a moment.
Okay.]
Don't kill the messenger, okay? Your obsessive arch-nemesis-slash-possible-date-to-superhero-prom-slash-'Its-Complicated-On-Facebook-Relationship'-buddy-slash-Halloween-Masquerade-Barbie friend... guy... thing...
Wants to call a truce with you.
Uh. So. ...How do we feel about this?
[He's going to hope you remember him from the five seconds you two spoke; actually, he almost hopes you don't. Just please say 'yes' and don't try to make him explain your complicated frienemy relationships anymore?]
[He answers his own question by looking it up in his Dreamberry just after he responded. It's a shame, really. He was fond of the spy.
And then there's the whole issue of how Tony blatantly left Bruce out, which makes Steve sigh. But he didn't comment to that just yet. It was probably coming, but he waited for a text response first.]
His double seemed to be trying to fight back. He'd represented him as an impostor to the admissions board, increased security in his home, and alerted his strange friends to apprehend him if necessary.
Dick hated confrontation. He hated putting himself in danger. And he hated getting his hands dirty. But his double was an uncouth musclehead, a jock, "popular" and much more proficient in a fight.
The answer was to find someone even stronger. And let him take care of it.
Dick? [Steve was thrown. When he had seen the message from Dick on his Dreamberry, he was expecting to hear from the younger kid he was so fond of. But...he wasn't so much a kid anymore. The voice was so different, yet way more familiar than he would have thought. It was still so clearly the person he knew, so he didn't doubt who the message was from. It definitely wasn't something Steve was expecting. His mind reeled at this new information, unable to push down the confusion of how the same thing happened to a young hero he was fond of..
He pushed that aside though, as processing that wasn't the priority. Dick said there was an emergency, and if that was the case, Steve needed to address that first.]

A pile of these is left inside Steve and Peggy's room. They're divided up into various sizes.
A note says:
Just because you're getting married doesn't mean you shouldn't practice safe sex. ;)
